We’re trying to start up 2600 meetings in the Leeds area (specifically Leeds city centre it’s most convenient).
The first meeting will be on Friday 6th March 2009, 7pm @ The Elbow Room, Leeds.
Standard rules for any 2600 meeting apply: anyone and everyone is welcome, it’s all about discussing hacks, phreaks, tech, geek, and pretty much everything else over some drinks with other like minded individuals.
There’re quite a few geek groups in Leeds already…
- OpenCoffee – http://imran.ali.name/blog/opencoffee/ – GeekUp – http://geekup.org/events/113/ – BarCamp – http://barcampleeds.com/ – Leeds Ruby Thing – http://leedsrubything.org/ – Girl Geek Dinners – http://leedsgirlgeekdinners.com/
You should def pop along to some of them – or get some of those groups to come along to your meetup.
Cheers, I have been to the GeekUp (and indeed announced LTSH at the last one), planning to try and get to an OpenCoffee, work permitting.
Probably be a little difficult to get to a girl geek dinner unless someone invites me though. ;)
